Nestled between the Great Dividing Range to the north, Mount Baw Baw to the east and Western Port Bay and Bass Coast to the south, West Gippsland has four quaint and diverse railway towns - Garfield, Tynong, Bunyip and Nar Nar Goon - which offer an abundance of food, dining and agricultural experiences.
Garfield
Garfield is a colourful railway township with a distinct rural feel. Boasting ample dining and farming experiences - such as Little Miss Hangry, Lulu's Lolly Shop, as well as a spa treatment centre, great homeware and clothing shops and a historic theatre hosting live performances - it is packed with fun and eclectic experiences.
Nar Nar Goon
A small town with a rich grazing and dairy farming heritage, Nar Nar Goon is peppered with stunning murals and is proud of its tempting cafes such as The Farmer's Market Cafe and The Goon Eatery, both serving up fresh local produce. People come from all over for supplies from the likes of The Butcher with The Chef.
Tynong
Set against the backdrop of Mount Cannibal Flora and Fauna Reserve. Tynong has many lifestyle and farmgate offerings. Attractions include Cannibal Creek Winery, Peppermint Ridge Farm, Gumbuya World and the new Pakenham Racing Club.
For a sophisticated foodie experience head to Peppermint Ridge Farm set in the rolling hills of Tynong North. The farm has been growing and cultivating a wide range of Australian native food plants for more than 25 years and offers a range of educational experiences that showcase the flavours and aromas off plants like lemon myrtle, anise myrtle, strawberry gum, finger lime and mountain pepper.
Bunyip
Positioned on rich farmland, Bunyip offers a quiet country lifestyle and enticing food experiences, with local cafes such as Biddy Martha's and Sherwood Park Orchard Bakery Cafe serving up the finest Gippsland produce. It is home to the renowned Bunyip State Park.
